Stefan Pohlit

Stefan Pohlit est né en 1976 à Heidelberg. De 1993 à 1997, il passait de séjours réguliers à Paris pour travailler à la Société Franz Schreker. Il a fait ses études en Composition et Écriture à Sarrebruck, Bâle, Lyon et Karlsruhe, ses professeurs les plus influents étant Wolfgang Rihm, Sandeep Bhagwati et le théoricien néo-Pythagoricien Peter-Michael Riehm. Il a complémenté ses études privées en intervenants orientales et cultures islamiques par de nombreux séjours au Moyen-Orient. En 2008, il était appelé en fonction de « spécialiste étranger » au Conservatoire National d’Ankara. Actuellement, il poursuit des études doctorales comme compositeur et théoricien interculturel au Centre d’Études Avancées en Music (MIAM) de l’Université Polytechnique d’Istanbul. Sa musique est profondément influencée par une expertise en musiques orientales et par une nouvelle conception d’harmonie microtonale. - - - Stefan Pohlit, was born in 1976 at Heidelberg. Between 1993 and 1997, he regularly visited the Société Franz Schreker at Paris. He studied Composition and Music Theory at Saarbrucken, Basle, Lyon and Karlsruhe. His last and most influential teachers have been Wolfgang Rihm, Sandeep Bhagwati and the German neo-Pythagorean theorist Peter-Michael Riehm. In 1999, he began pursuing intense private study in Oriental languages and Islamic cultures. Numerous stays brought him to the Middle East. In 2008, he was assigned as a “foreign specialist” at the Ankara State Conservatory. As a composer and intercultural theorist, he is currently completing a PhD at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) of Istanbul’s Technical University. Pohlit’s music has been profoundly influenced by his expertise in Middle-Eastern music and a new, harmony-based conception of microtonal research. None
