Presentation of the currently developed version (3) of the R-IoT wireless IMU sensor, designed for live performance, research and digital lutherie
The R-IoT wireless sensor platform is a small electronic board embedding 3D, 9-axis motion sensors, a baro-altimeter and a wireless microcontroller designed to make Open Sound Control based gestural sensing systems for research, motion analysis and performance arts controlling interactive contents and live electronics. We present the finalized version of the board and its distribution by the french company EOWAVE.
We detail the firmware coding progress of the R-IoT inertial sensors system that can be usd to capture musical gesture applied to live performance and new instrument making. A particular focus will be shed on how to modify the firwmare for custom external sensors or needs as well a MIDI BLE applications.
