Eduardo Lorenzo (Madrid, 1973) studied piano and composition at the “Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid” where he was granted in 1999 the first prize with distinction in composition. He graduated also in “Ingeniería Técnica de Telecomunicación” at the “Universidad de Alcalá (Madrid)”. Since 2000 he continued his compositional studies at the “Hochschule für Musik Köln” in Germany with a scholarship of the Spanish Government. Eduardo Lorenzo has been awarded prizes of SGAE (“Sociedad General de Autores y Editores de España”) for ensemble (2000 and 2005), “Prize Flora Prieto” for symphonic composition (2000), “I. Muestra jóvenes compositores” CDMC (2004), and the National Prize of Church Polyphonic Music (Madrid, 2002). He has participated in numerous composition master classes und workshops with H. W. Henze, M. Trojahn, P. Dusapin, K. Meyer, G. Benjamin, De Pablo, C. Hallfter.. His works have been first performed in Madrid (Auditorio Nacional de Música), Valencia, Zaragoza, Santander (55. Festival Internacional), Berlin, Cologne, Strasbourg, La Habana (XIX Festival de Música Contemporánea), and Mexico (Festival Cervantino 2004).
